I've got a background in sewing so I'm always eager to craft programs around it. I chose scrunchies because they're simple to sew and Among Us keychains so teens who don't have long hair wouldn't feel left out.
For the Among Us kit I created a basic pattern and taught the teens how to pin and cut the fabric. All of the sewing was done with a whip stitch.
Since the scrunchie is just a tube of fabric, I cut them all out to size for the kits but taught the teens how to do the slightly more complicate back stitch.
Because I enjoy cute and tedious things I decided to buy those tiny wooden spools they make for crafts and filled them with the thread needed for the project. I had to use an Exacto-knife to cut a notch in the top of the spool for the end of the thread to sit in which was dangerous in terms of pressure needed on such a small, roll-y object so I probably wouldn't recommend this.
But look how cute:
I also cut a small square of felt to hold the pins and needle so they wouldn't be loose inside the bags.
The instructions were the most difficult part of preparing this craft since I filmed ~45 minute long videos with multiple camera angles and then had to edit that on Movie Maker. You might be able to make an instructional sheet work if you're more concise than I am.

Success: This one was pretty popular, but on the flip side was on the more expensive and more time consuming to prepare. I'm glad to know that my community has an interest in sewing so I'll probably do more sewing programs down the line.
