I'm a big fan of the result of this kit, though this one may translate better into an in-person program where everyone can use a hot glue gun
Supplies:
-Paper with petal templates drawn/printed on
-Like a million glue dots
-Egg carton cup
-Instructions
Patrons will need:
-Scissors
I have made giant paper flowers a few times for library displays and I have had many people ask me to detail how they are made. So I decided to make it a kit! Most of my prep time involved tracing the petals onto the construction paper, because our printers refuse to be involved.
You can find basic instructions on how to make a giant paper flowers by googling "Giant paper flower DIY."
The biggest issue for this program was that I normally would use a hot glue gun to shape and glue the petals together. Because I could not send everyone a hot glue gun home with them I ended up including an ungodly amount of glue dots in each kit. These worked alright to bring everything together though the results were certainly less sturdy.
Also, rather than doing an intricate center with paper I included one cup from an egg carton which I think looked pretty nice, considering.
If I were to do this program again I would wait until in-person programming is a thing again and cut out the petals ahead of time with our new Cricut to cut back on the time required. But it was very popular!
Amount of Kits: 20
Sign ups: 20
Cost: ~$20
Success: Popular! But I'd want to do it in person instead
