I've seen faux stained glass done with mod podge and tissue paper before, and decided to do one with a dragon theme to fit in with Tails and Tales and look cooler than the usual butterfly.
The most complicated portion of this was creating the outline file so we could use the Cricut to cut them out in a reasonable timeframe. I ended up having to ask my coworker who has an ipad and procreate to create the outline for me based on an image I had found online. Before this I had tried to scan and outline, as well as using free softwares and nothing created a clean enough image.
Here is the finished file my coworker created:
The teens were instructed to pick a color scheme of 3-6 colors then rip small pieces out of the colors they had chosen. Ripping rather than cutting made it so scissors were not required and also gave a more blended effect. Then they covered each piece in the mod podge and laid it down within the dragon outline. Towards the end they were to go back over with the mod podge and brush to make sure everything was connected and laying flat. I did mention the option to go for a truer stained glass look by filing in each panel with only one color, but the random decoupage was a more enjoyable process for me.
