Bird Seed Cakes (Teen/Adult)

We had a birding program planned for our Adult Department, so I put together this craft kit to match

Supplies:

- Bird Seed

- Light Corn Syrup

- Gelatin

- Flour

- Rope (left over from a macramé program)

The most complicated part of this was getting and portioning out the ingredients, but other than that it was fairly simple. I chose to allow patrons to create any shape they'd like with their hands, but you could choose to include cookie cutters, cups, or other things to act as a mold.

I got the recipe from a Youtube video and removed the extra fruits and nuts to simplify the supplies. I have included my recipe at the bottom of this post.

Success: I was happy with it! (Except for the fact that the squirrels tore down my test cake overnight)
